Engineering Symbols

Tolerance: The total amount a dimension can vary. The difference between max and min. values. The total variance in dimensions (upper limit - lower limit).

Datum: A theoretically exact point, axis, or plane.

Tolerance Measures:
physical dimensions
value or physical property of a material

Allowance: a planned deviation between an actual dimension and a nominal or theoretical dimension. An engineer can alter the sizes of dimensionson paper.
Theoretical and Nominal: On paper

Geometric Tolerancing: Symbolic language used in engineering drawings, and computer generated 3D solid models for explicity

Structure of Welding:
Horizontal line (Reference line), all drawings are based around that line. the anshor to which all the other welding

Stick
TIG [Tungsten Inert Gas] (Arc welding process)
